For his debut at the Musikverein Hall in Vienna he played Dvorak ́s Cello Concerto under Franz Welser-Moest, televised live in 8 European countries. Born in Vienna, Wolfgang Panhofer had studied at the Vienna Academy and at the Royal Northern College of Music with Ralph Kirshbaum.
At age 17 he was one of the youngest members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.
He toured throughout Europe, Asia, the US under conductors like Lord Yehudi Menuhin, Franz Welser Moest, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Cornelius Meister and with major orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony, BBC Symphony, Tschaikowsky Orchestra Moscow etc.
